Bridges, Crowns & More in Ormond

White Fillings/ Composite Fillings

A composite white filling can be used to replace old metal fillings and poorly fitting fillings for a more natural result, they are a mixture of plastic and resin material, which can be used in both front and back teeth. For this cosmetic dentistry the materials are matched to the color of your teeth, or can be changed at your request.

Veneers

Veneers are an ideal solution to cosmetically enhance a smile while still maintaining healthy tooth structure. Veneers are an overlay that can be used to restore chipped, gapped, stained, or misaligned teeth. Bonded to the front of your teeth, veneers close gaps, mask chips and discoloration. There are two forms of veneers ? porcelain and composite (tooth colored filling material)

Crowns

Crowns are typically used to cover a heavily filled or broken tooth as well as to provide strength after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are usually made of a precious metal covered in porcelain, or all porcelain, which is then placed on the top of a prepared tooth. Crowns are also used to attach bridges, cover implants; they can also have an aesthetic use to cover stained or chipped teeth. This sort of cosmetic dentistry is generally used where extra tooth reinforcement is needed

Bridges

Bridges are natural-looking artificial teeth that can replace a section of missing teeth. Because they are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth as well as the proper bite relationship between upper and lower teeth.

A combination of porcelain and gold alloy materials are usually used to make a bridge. It is important to replace missing teeth to prevent stresses on other teeth and the shifting of adjacent teeth.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants are a modern version of the traditional bridge work and also offer a permanent solution to the problem of missing teeth. They are a durable, stable and fully functional replacement to your natural teeth. If you have a missing tooth or teeth, you may find that adjacent teeth can begin to change position.

Though more complex than bridges, they are now the preferred treatment of choice for replacing missing teeth .The treatment involved for dental implants consists of two main parts, which can be broken down as follows:

  • Fixture: A small titanium fixture  is placed in the bone where the root of the missing tooth has been lost
  • Restoration: A crown or bridge restoration is attached to the fixture above the gum

These two components make up a dental implant and completely replace the missing tooth. Over time, the fixture fuses to the bone, acting as an anchor for the replacement tooth. This makes the entire structure highly secure and stable.

Dental implants are very effective if you have a single missing tooth or require Full Mouth Rehabilitation
